When & Where

Austin Triathlon Festival will not take place in 2017. Please join us at other Texas Tri Series events including:


  • Sprint: Swim: 700 Meters. Bike: 12.4 mi. Run: 3.1 mi.
  • Olympic: Swim 1500 Meters. Bike 24.8 mi. Run: 6.2 mi.
  • Olympic Aquabike: Swim 1500 Meters. Bike 24.8 mi.

Transition Area

Transition is split into two sections, one for sprint and one for olympic. Each sections will have racks assigned to each age group. It is open racking within your age group. You will be able to bring in items such as water bottles, goggles, helmets, etc on Monday morning but all bikes must be checked in on Sunday.

There will be mechanics in transition for any last minute needs and with bike pumps for airing up your tires. Once transition closes, you will not be allowed back in. Only participants are allowed in transition, friends and family (including children) must wait outside of transition.

Bike Check-In

Pre Race Bike Check In is mandatory for all participants.  All bikes must be checked in by 6:00 PM Sunday. There is no bike check in on race morning. 

Bike Check In will occur on Sunday at the transition area on Auditorium Shores. Please refer to the Site and Transition Map for location details. Your bike must be numbered, and you must be wearing your wristband in order to enter transition.

Bike Check-Out

Bikes will not be allowed out of Transition until the final cyclist has completed the bike course. It is expected that this will be around 10:30 AM. Participants will be allowed back into transition after they finish, but bikes may not be removed from the racks. Please be courteous to your fellow participants.

Finish Line Festival

The finish line festival is open to all participants and spectators. Participants will receive free hot food and drinks, as well as other treats. Food & drink for spectators may be available for purchase, and may be free at some vendors. Free water will be available for everyone. Make sure and stick around for the live bands and good times!

Texas Tri Series

The Austin Triathlon is the 4th event in the Texas Tri Series. The Series is composed of five triathlon events. Participants can complete the series by participating in all of the events. Participants will be given credit for participating in an event if they finish the event as a competitor, or if they volunteer. The series concludes with a an awesome finisher party complete with food, drinks, awards ceremony, dancing, and more. For more information, visit www.texastriseries.com.
